Alerts and the traffic light system
What the alerts do
The Alerts tab sets three timings. They drive the traffic light system on the docket:
- when a docket first hits the screen it is green
- it turns amber on the first alert
- it turns red on the second alert
That gives the team an at-a-glance read on how close a docket is to being late.
The three fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Minutes to first alert | How long until the docket turns amber |
| Minutes to second alert | How long until the docket turns red |
| Minutes to hold alert | How long until a docket changes colour while it is on hold |
Suggested starting points
| Area | Alerts |
|---|---|
| Coffee | 2 and 4 minutes |
| Kitchen | 8 and 15 minutes |
Set them to the wait time you actually promise customers. Alerts are per filter, so a coffee station and a kitchen line can run to different clocks in the same venue.
The timer badge
Each docket shows a running timer badge — how long that docket has been on screen. The badge colour follows the traffic light system above.
A docket coming back from hold restarts its timer in green.
